The Reproductive Medicine Group’s IVF/Surgery Center Achieves National Accreditation

The Reproductive Medicine Group’s IVF/Surgery Center has achieved accreditation by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAHC), according to Jessica Frome R.N., B.S.N., M.P.H. of The Reproductive Medicine Group. The facility is the only IVF/Surgery Center in the Tampa Bay area to have received this prestigious accreditation.

Status as an accredited organization means The Reproductive Medicine Group’s IVF/Surgery Center has passed a series of rigorous and nationally recognized standards for the provision of quality health care set by the AAAHC. Over 1,300 ambulatory health care organizations across the United Stares are accredited by the AAAHC.

“Accreditation underscores our long-standing commitment to providing the highest possible levels of quality care to the community we serve,” said Frome. “We are pleased and proud to have our efforts recognized with this accreditation.”

Ambulatory health care organizations seeking accreditation by AAAHC undergo an extensive on-site, peer-based survey of its facility and services. Not all ambulatory health care organizations seek accreditation; not all undergoing the on-site survey are granted accreditation.

Among the types of ambulatory health care organizations that can seek AAAHC accreditation are ambulatory and office based surgery centers, single and multi-specialty group practices, college and university health services, dental group practices, community health centers, occupational health centers and managed care organizations.

The Reproductive Medicine Group’s IVF/Surgery Center is located at 5245 E. Fletcher Ave. in Tampa, and was designed to serve as a Center of Excellence for Infertility and IVF treatment. The center houses physician and administrative offices, two fully certified anesthesiology staffed operating rooms, a state-of-the-art IVF laboratory with in-office IVF, and a comprehensive endocrine and andrology laboratory. The center is also equipped to provide advanced ultrasound and gyneco-radiologic procedures using digitized imaging and fluoroscopy equipment.

Drs. Barry S. Verkauf, Marc A. Bernhisel, Samuel Tarantino, Sandy B. Goodman, and Timothy R. Yeko are the physicians of The Reproductive Medicine Group. They are board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, as well as subspecialty boarded and certified in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. Each physician was recognized this year by his or her peers as Best Doctors in America, and have over 75 years of combined experience.
