Sperm Cryopreservation

The Reproductive Medicine Group is pleased to offer sperm cryopreservation (sperm freezing) to men whose fertility may be at risk. The Reproductive Medicine Group provides this service in an effort to preserve fertility choices for men who may desire children in the future after a vasectomy, or chemotherapy and radiation treatments.

Sperm that is frozen and stored in liquid nitrogen remains viable for many years. By freezing the specimen, the patient is assured that the specimen is available for future use. Multiple specimens may be collected for storage. After the specimen is processed, it is shipped to a long-term storage facility, from which it is easily obtained when assisted reproductive services are desired.
